Miriam Jarvis is an emerging voice in screenwriting. She was selected as a BAFTA mentee in 2023 after her short film ‘While Time is Away’ was produced. Miriam wrote the script in 2021 and won the IMDB Script to Screen Award in 2022 which led to IMDB and FilmBathUK funding the production of the short film.
 
Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, Miriam likes to showcase the region in her writing. Her original feature film ‘Jump That 43’ has been optioned by MOB Films. The film is a self-described love letter to the North East.
 
Miriam previously worked in the health and social care for six years. Within the sector, Miriam worked as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities and continues to volunteer with Gigbuddies to enable people living with disabilities to stay out late and engage in activities they love outside of their designated support hours.
