Sally Abbott created the award-winning original BBC drama THE CORONER which ran for two series on BBC1 and is shown all over the world. Sally’s recent work includes four scripts for VERA for ITV and two episodes of CALL THE MIDWIFE for the BBC. Her play I THINK WE ARE ALONE was co-directed by Kathy Burke and Scott Graham for Frantic Assembly/Theatre Royal Plymouth and Leicester Curve and toured the UK in 2020. She is currently writing a four part thriller for Blackbox Media.

Sally's TV credits include DEATH IN PARADISE, HOLBY CITY, EASTENDERS and CASUALTY where one of her episodes was nominated for a Radio Times/Creative Diversity Network Award. Prior to her work in TV, Sally worked in theatre for 17 years working as associate producer, director and dramaturg for Manchester Contact Theatre, English Touring Theatre, National Association of Youth Theatres and Liverpool’s Everyman Theatre amongst others. She trained on Acting Out at Liverpool’s Hope Street Project and on the prestigious BBC Drama Writers Academy.
